Dr. Jane Chu, new Chairwoman of National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), visited made her first visit to Rhode Island on August 18. She was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in June as the 11th chair of the NEA.
Dr. Chu is the daughter of Chinese immigrants. Rhode Island Kung Fu Club welcomed her and paid respects to her Chinese heritage with a lion dance at one of her multiple stops in RI.
