Free children's meal program running in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—The city of Providence is running a free breakfast and lunch program for children at dozens of sites around the city.
The
federal Summer Food Service Program for Children is administered by the
city parks and recreation department and the state department of
education. The office of Mayor Angel Taveras (tuh-VEHR'-us) expects that
about 5,000 meals will be provided daily at 31 sites throughout
Providence.
Anyone 18 and
younger is eligible. Meals must be eaten at the designated program
locations, which include recreation centers, pools and playgrounds.
