台灣驫馬劇場10/24羅德島設計學院禮堂演出
駐波士頓台北經濟文化辦事處新聞組昨(十三)日公佈，台灣的第一個純男子舞團「驫馬劇場」將於10月24日晚8點，在羅德島州普域敦斯市羅德島設計學院禮堂(Rhode Island School of Design Auditorium)做兩場「速度」演出。
羅德島州普域敦斯市藝術文化及旅遊局和「第一有效(FirstWorks)」合作舉辦的「2009第一有效節(FirstWorks Festival 2009)」，是一個為期七週，從九月廿四日進行到十一月十五日，為誌記音樂、活動影象、文化傳奇方面的美國大師，以及創新的馬戲劇場、前衛的數位藝術，以及由羅州藝術家所創作特別項目而舉辦的系列慶祝活動。
這將是來自台灣的這「驫馬劇場」，首度在美國校園演出，推廣台灣的舞蹈藝術。
經文處新聞組表示，「驫馬劇場」是5名熱愛舞蹈的新生代男性表演工作者，2004年攜手創辦的舞蹈團。他們希望呈現自己對當代城市男性身體之美的觀察，跳出新世代男性身體的性格與氣質，反映時代的變遷與美學的差異。
十月廿四日他們講演出的「速度」一舞，展現舞者在遊戲中探索速度，在樂趣中發展出對時間、距離與演進的觀點，充滿挑戰性。
「驫馬劇場」曾於2008年及2009年兩度應邀赴紐約演出，皆獲紐約時報好評，得到主流媒體關注，已具國際知名度。
經文處新聞組表示，紐約時報藝評家Jennifer Dunning看過他們的表演後表示，「驫馬劇場是一個來自台灣迷人且充滿想像力的全男子舞團…他們的作品猶如一場饗宴，各個舞段爭奇鬥艷，舞者展現輕快敏捷的肢體與精湛的戲劇天賦」。

星星中文學校將於十月十日慶中秋
中秋节庆祝会
红叶叠绿送秋爽，皓月中秋分外明。值此中秋佳节来临之际，星星中文学校将举行中秋庆典。由于场地原因，拟于10月10日假罗德岛华人教会场地举行中秋庆祝会，诚邀全体师生和家长参加，共同来庆祝这一美好的节日。届时将有免费美食，Bryant University 提供的月饼及学生们自己组织的丰富多彩的表演和娱乐节目。

羅德島大學孔子學院十月三日慶中秋
羅德島大學孔子學院將於十月三日(週六)晚六點至八點，假該校京士頓(Kingston)校區紀念聯盟大廳(Memorial Union Ballroom, 50 Lower College Road, Kingston)舉辦中秋節慶祝會。
這是該校的第二屆中秋節慶祝會，也是孔子學院新學年的開始。該校將藉此機會歡迎該校的新校長杜雷(David M. Dooley)，安排一場有廿四道菜的晚宴，以及月餅。門票三十元，學生十元。
購票者還可免費參加孔子學院十月十日(週六)晚六至七點，在京士頓(Kingston)上大學路(Upper College Road)64號愛德華茲禮堂(Edwards Auditorium)舉辦的湖北大學醒獅團的中國功夫表演。這一活動門票五元，學生免費。

Chinese Moon Festival, 2009
The URI Confucius Institute 2nd Annual Signature Event, the Chinese Moon Festival, will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, the fullest moon of the year. The Moon Festival is not only a time to celebrate the Chinese version of American Thanksgiving, but it is also the anniversary of the Confucius Institute and an occasion to initiate all Confucius Institute programs in a new academic year. The festival provides the opportunity to welcome the University’s new president, Dr. David M. Dooley, as well to welcome faculty and students, especially those who have come to URI for its Chinese programs. A 24-course dinner with Chinese Moon Cakes will be served and your event ticket will allow you to enjoy an authentic performance of lion dance and Chinese martial arts by Hubei University Lion Dance and Martial Arts Troupe on October 10th.
